ab bhalaa chhoR ke ghar kyaa karte
shaam ke vaqt safar kyaa karte

terii masruufiyateN jaante the
apne aane kii Khabar kyaa karte

(masruufiyateN : engagements)

jab sitaare hii nahiiN mil paaye
le ke ham shams-o-qamar kyaa karte

(shams-o-qamar : Sun and the Moon)

vo musaafir hii khulii dhuup kaa thaa
saaye phailaa ke shajar kyaa karte

"Khamosh raat ke pehalu me sitare nahi hote,
in rukhi aankho me rangin nazare na hote...
Ham bhi na karte parwah
agar aap itne pyare na hote.. "

tuu merii tarah se yaktaa hai magar mere habib
jii me.n aataa hai ko_ii aur bhii tujh saa dekhuu.N

mai.n ne jis lamhe ko puujaa hai use bas ek baar
Khvaab ban kar terii aa.Nkho.n me.n utarataa dekhuu.N

tuu meraa kuchh nahii.n lagataa hai magar jaan-e-hayaat
